Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and have completed sophomore year status of a bachelors degree at an accredited 4-year college.
Experience with Solidworks is required.
Experience in mechanical dimensioning and development of drawing packages is necessary.
Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

During your internship working within one of our engineering teams, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by working with the teams responsible for delivering product innovations. A typical day for you will include:
Collaborating with your supervisor and multi-disciplinary team on product design, testing, and documentation maintenance
Working on a variety of project, including Non-Destructive Test and X-Ray Fluorescence instruments.
Developing Solidworks models and assemblies
Creating manufacturing and assembly drawings from Solidworks models
Participating and adding value during meetings and discussions

Olympus is seeking interns to participate in a program designed to expose university-enrolled students to a holistic real-world work experience through the completion of company learning sessions and finite, interest-based tasks and projects. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist the Mechanical Engineering department as assigned, with design, testing and documentation maintenance. The intern will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, potentially working on a variety of projects including Non-Destructive Test and X-Ray Fluorescence instruments. Olympus SSA uses Solidworks as its CAD software.
