Olympus America Inc. Engineering Specialist in Richmond Hill, Ontario
Provide leadership and direction for the Engineering team to consistently meet or exceed performance objectives for:
Training SP and Rigid scopes
System set up SP and Rigid scopes
New product/repair introduction SP and Rigid scopes
Technical support (Production/QA/RA/CSR etc.)
Workshop improvement/Cost reduction
Provide continuous evaluation, development and improvement in Engineering team performance to produce the highest levels of Quality.
Routinely identify and prioritize areas for continuous improvement with each Engineer through Success factors.
Evaluate, recommend and implement process improvements to improve cost quality and delivery metrics.
Use Plan, Do, Check, & Act (PDCA) method to analyze quality trends and make quality improvement recommendations and work with production supervisor to implement.
Establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction is attained.
Support continuous improvement measures by providing analysis and correction of technical information and by recommending industries best practices.
Facilitate technical training on new products, processes and change notices to employees.
Coordinate Change Notices (CNs), Non Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs) in a timely manner, to close and/or achieve acceptable levels of compliance.
Investigate and reports weekly on discrepant material notices (DMNs).
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
Minimum of 2 years related service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong statistical, analytical and decision-making sense of urgency skills is essential.
Must be quality and customer oriented.
Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential.
Must possess strong knowledge of development methodologies and problem solving skills.
Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
CAD experience is preferred.
Must be able to perform required duties with minimum supervision.
Knowledge of Health Canada regulations is desired.

Richmond Hill, ON - Under the direction of the the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Specialist MP and Ultrasound supports production objectives to improve quality and delivery. The incumbent will evaluate, recommend and implement shop floor process improvement activities. He/She will provide technical information to cross functional teams, recommend cost-effective procedures, track and maintain implementation dates. The incumbent will support continuous improvement of the endoscope service business as a whole but more specifically to small diameter endoscopes (SP) and Rigid endoscopes. He/She champions, develops and promotes quality activities to meet regulatory and quality requirements while supporting business goals and improving customer satisfaction. The incumbent will be accountable for supporting solutions relating to quality and ensuring the Quality Management System is implemented and maintained effectively in the organization.
