Olympus America Inc. Industrial Sales Consultant - OCI in Montreal, Canada

Job Duties::

  • Travel the majority of the time to meet customer for the purpose of product demonstrations and selling product.

  • Maintain responsibility for attaining the sales targets and objectives within the sales territory. This is accomplished by completing a sales plan each year, identifying key prospects and customers, and then working and reviewing the sales plan.

  • Meet the sales target for their territory on all products.

  • Visit customers to demonstrate product and discuss sales opportunities on a daily basis in the assigned territory.

  • Work closely with others at Olympus to coordinate the overall selling efforts of the company.

  • Complete, work, review, and improve a Sales Plan that includes an action plan for increasing sales to active customers and prospective customers, scheduling full coverage of the territory, maintaining a high level of in-field time, and continually improving product presentation skills and product knowledge.

  • Respond to all customer phone calls and emails in a timely manner.

  • Generate leads for the other Olympus sales representatives.

  • Complete timely quotations to customers working through the sales engineers and support staff.

  • Use the Olympus CRM package for completing daily tasks and management reporting.

  • Complete all periodic sales reports, quotations, calendar events, and opportunity management.

  • Coordinate sales to key accounts with the regional managers, other sales representatives.

  • Follow up on all leads provided by Olympus.

  • Prospect and cold call to identify new business opportunities.

Job Requirements::

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

  • University Degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, engineering, or non-destructive testing discipline is required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven successful experience in equipment sales is required.

  • Ability to effectively communicate is essential.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers the importance of using Olympus products.

  • Ability to give effective presentations to customers is required.

  • Must be able to provide detailed, written reports that effectively communicate the needs of customers.

  • Must be able to understand mechanical equipment and concepts so they will be able to understand the application of the product.

  • Must know how to use word processing, spreadsheets, and computer presentation software.

  • Must also be able to learn technical software applications that are used with the products.

  • Must be able to travel, up to 75% of time.

Job Description:

Montreal, QC - The Industrial Sales Consultant, RVI,NDT and Microscope Products is responsible for developing a sales strategy for a defined territory, implementing the sales plan, promoting and demonstrating the company’s products and services, with the goal of attaining a sales target. The incumbent will be responsible for knowing the technical features of all of the products within their product line and be able to effectively demonstrate the products to the customer. In addition to technical knowledge, He/She will also be responsible for knowing how to perform and manage the selling process of a technical selling cycle.
