Olympus America Inc. Director, Market Development in Miami, Florida

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical discipline; Master's Degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional medical device industry experience in the minimally invasive procedures space; GI preferred

  • 50% domestic travel commitment with possibility for some international travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior people management experience

  • Extensive customer facing experience (Academic Medical Center, Intergraded delivery networks, etc.)

  • Previous documented sales and/or marketing experience in the medical devices industry

  • New technology commercialization experience

  • Prior Business Development experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of the currently evolving GI Technology Landscape

  • Knowledge of adjacent technologies to the current Olympus EndoTherapy Offering

  • Both a sales and marketing background

  • Prior experience in working with strategic physicians at academic and tertiary care centers

  • Excellent communication skills with all types of (social, print, audiovisual) media

  • Familiarity with MS Office, Lotus Notes and other ancillary software

  • Must be resourceful and self-motivated

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to exemplify a high level of business acumen

  • Comfortable in delivering presentations to audiences in the medical and healthcare industry, as well as providing training to internal and external personnel (e.g.: Olympus sales and marketing, physicians, nurses, C-suite, etc.)

The Market Development Director (MDD) position will serve as a field-based Marketing representative responsible for setting strategic direction in the growth of key markets and help to define regional product strategies in conjunction with peers in the marketing organization. The incumbent will implement strategies that support the growth of Olympus' (OCA) medical devices portfolio while fostering and building business relationships with other key internal and external stakeholders. He/She will be responsible for collaboration with cross-functional teams on upstream and downstream marketing objectives. The incumbent is responsible for strategic technology adoption and utilization within the centers they cover. A field-based MDD is also responsible for developing strategic relationships with appropriate HCPs. This will allow the Medical Systems Group Endoscopy Division to have consistent access to the voice of the experienced and thought-leading customer for product development, clinical research, education & training programs and market intelligence.

Job Duties::

As a Director of Market Development working on the Enotherapy Market Development team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by working closely with Sales, R&D and Product Management to improve and deliver more value to our customers through product enhancements and potential new product introductions. A typical day for you will include:

  • Performing \"Voice of the Customer\" (VOC) research in developing strategies to deliver profitable value to targeted markets collects competitive information and report findings.

  • Participating in conferences, exhibitions and trade association meetings.

  • Developing and executing customer market development programs.

  • Developing Centers of Excellence for training, technology, development and research.

  • Developing strategic relationships with experienced HCPs and thought leaders.

  • Driving new technology commercialization (Upstream and Downstream activities).

  • Developing and managing education, training and research projects with key thought leaders.

  • Exploring and validating potential new call-points.

  • Supporting new business development assessment.
