As a Nurse Consultant/Educator working on the Clinical Support team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by providing best advise to internal and external customers to help promote safety and improve outcomes. A typical day for you will include:
Providing EndoSite consulting services/deliverables to customers as assigned or directed by the Director of Clinical Support to hospital base GI Units, Multispecialty units, GI Private Endoscopy Clinics (PEC) and Multispecialty PEC customers; these include, but are not limited to the following deliverables: Endoscopy Reprocessing Quality Review, Endoscope Care and Handling Observation Analysis, Operations & Efficiency Analysis, Workspace Design and Utilization Review and Private Endoscopy Clinic Services to conduct observational site visit and provide customer with a report of findings and recommendations.
Utilizing, updating, enhancing and support the existing EndoSite consulting business tools and consulting reports; business tools include but are not limited to: Multispecialty (MS) EndoPlanner, Smart Draw, Policy and Procedure Templates, all PEC Development / Project Facilitation Templates and Manuals, Operations and Efficiency Templates, and all other Analysis Consulting Templates.
Assisting in the Development, Implementation and teaching of educational program nationally based on customer needs and update educational material and presentations at least once yearly with the most current information and best practice recommendations.
Providing training and support to sales team on clinical services and reprocessing along with hands-on training on reprocessing of endoscopes so reps are knowledgeable on the steps required to train customers ensure the endoscope is safe for patient use.
Providing requested sales support and customer support related to sales evaluations and post sales in-service, customer inquiries and/or requests for additional information Provide post sales customer training/in-service for OER PRO automated endoscope reprocessor.
Working closely with Director of Clinical Support to facilitate the internal programs and systems designed to achieve the management and delivery of all EndoSite consulting and educational programs objectives.
Attending and speaking at industry symposiums and professional conferences, as needed and appropriate.
Establishing and contributing to a reputation that is consistent with Olympus Canada and Olympus Tokyo initiatives, and supporting and maintaining the Olympus reputation in an industry that encourages others to pursue Olympus as a first choice partner for their product, technology and business model.
Interacting with sales and marketing personnel on a regular basis as appropriate to help build a strong working relationship and network.
Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction when teaching educational programs or providing consulting services or onsite support.
Communicating effectively with all internal and external customers. and maintain strict confidentiality for all communications on a “Need to Know” basis.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Registered Nurse with active License.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school required, preferably in nursing; Masters Degree in related field is preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Surgical Operating Room Endoscopy, hospital management and/or Ambulatory Care Center or Office Based Endoscopy development; or Multispecialty experience required.
Ability to travel as necessary, domestic and international – up to 40%.
Knowledge of service product business as well as capital equipment business is required
Bilingual skills (French and English).
Certification in sub-specialty is desired.
Strong current medical/surgical, OR clinical and/or management background, report writing and presentation skills.
Previous medical industry experience with clinical, sales support or marketing role at a leading healthcare company or provider.
Previous marketing analysis, budgeting and business development experience.
Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to support a team effort and good interpersonal skills.
Flexible, creative, results and detail-oriented, good judgment, strong work ethic and personal integrity based on a high value system.
Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and other data analysis computer programs.
Self motivated with ability to work independently and efficiently.
Familiarity with endoscopy, GI, OR and Surgical procedures and products.
National recognition in area of sub-specialty is desired.
Strong problem solving experience and organizational skills.

The Nurse Consultant Educator will work under the direction of the Director of Clinical Support to provide educational courses, consulting services and clinical support to customers and the sales division. This will result in OCI offering customers value, service and support while securing appropriate long-range growth opportunities that meet Olympus business objectives and as a point of differentiation from our competition. The incumbent will develop ongoing educational programs with management guidance and teach educational programs nationally and also provide consulting services to our customer base.
