High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of internal experience as an Assembler, or may advance based on management’s discretion and demonstrated job performance; must have detailed knowledge of Olympus products, processes and Assembler skill sets.
External Applicants: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related lead type or supervisory position externally with experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence and effectively present information to employees, supervisors, or engineers.
Must be able to work in a clean room environment and follow the clean room environment practices and procedures.
Must have effective analytical skills, effective teambuilding skills and effective motivational skills.
Must be self-directed and able to carry out multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work effectively within the following MS Windows applications: Excel, Outlook, and Word and site specific PC programs as required to perform job duties following training. e.g. Oracle, PLM, MRP, ERP.PED and Enterprise Etime.
Knowledge of GDP, GMP and Lean Manufacturing.
Must be capable of operating manufacturing equipment including following training, but not limited to: microscopes, test equipment, EFDs, ultrasonic welders, soldering irons.
Must be capable of operating measurement equipment following training e.g. dial callipers, pressure gages, rulers.

As a Group Packaging Leader working on the Otology team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. A typical day for you will include:
Assisting management in planning, organizing and controlling the department activities in accordance with production planning priorities and daily department goals.
Assisting in the development, training and motivation of employees.
Ensuring that employee production, equipment, material and work areas conform to GMP, FDA, ISO, and Gyrus ACMI procedures.
Coordinating movement of inventories in and out of department. Interfaces with department managers, supervisors or group leaders from other areas as need to ensure timely packaging of all products.
Working on daily production and assist other employees with production related needs.
Assisting in lean manufacturing improvement activities and takes a leading role in communicating lean manufacturing initiatives to department personnel.
Assisting in time and attendance data management and helping to coordinate vacation/PTO schedules to ensure department production needs are met.
Assisting engineering in setting-up packaging for new product or changes in packaging for any current product.
Maintaing work order integrity at all times, including counts, quality control, and informing Otology manager of any problems involving production, quality, or safety.
Performing other related duties as assigned, performs backup assignments for department, and participates in other company programs as needed.
